Checklist

As part of learning to initiate community building activities, we naturally need to consider the importance of creating safe environments for children and young people participating in our activities. To this end, all friends serving in any capacity involving children and youth under18 years of age in the Bahá’í community, for example teachers of children’s classes, animators of junior youth groups, overnight camp assistants, etc. need to have valid Child Protection Policy Training and a current Blue Card before they commence this type of service.

Ensure your Blue Card accreditation is up-to-date

All teachers and volunteers involved in spiritual education programs must hold valid Blue Cards. These cards are a testament to their clearance for working with children and their commitment to upholding the highest child protection standards.

Please note that Blue Card services have a ‘No Card, No Start’ policy which applies to everyone.

Ensure your Child Protection Policy training is up-to-date

Our teachers and volunteers all undergo comprehensive child protection policy training. This training equips them with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify, prevent, and respond to any situation that may compromise the safety and well-being of our children. We believe that education is not only about imparting knowledge but also about fostering a secure environment for learning.

All parents need to complete the following registration form

The safety of our children is paramount. As part of this initiative, and in line with the National Spiritual Assembly’s insurance policy requirements, we request parents and guardians to complete a registration form for each child participating in our spiritual education program. These forms will help us ensure that we have up-to-date and accurate information about each child, including any medical or special considerations they may have and also providing consent for certain aspects of the running the program.

  3. Send the completed form to cc.brisbane@nea.bahai.org.au
